I heard about this on the radio while I was driving around downtown this morning, and I just had to blog about it. I think that I can sum up the entire news article with one word: Pathetic! I know it may be a tough concept to grasp, but ITS ONLY A GAME SYSTEM!! It isn't limited edition, more will be released as soon as Sony finishes its little marketing ploy - release a small amount so that the demand is huge and people are running around to get their hands on one. One guy in Calgary camped out since Wednesday to get his. Lots of people are selling theirs on eBay just so they can make a profit off the system. MORE WILL BE COMING OUT PEOPLE!! I guess there always has to be a group of stupid people in every bunch, those willing to kill people over a game system or the money they will be using to purchase it.

It's the whole 'Tickle Me Elmo' thing all over again- it's one of the 'hot items' (yet the real 'hot item' isn't out until Sunday) for the holiday season, and people go a little nuts over it. Frankly, it is pathetic that these people do such stupid things and risk people's lives (I read one article about a lady, 9 months pregnant, who started having contractions while waiting in line for a PS3- and she refused to give up her spot in line to give birth).
So my official nomination for the Darwin Awards for 2006: Playstation 3 Owners.
